Abstract. The article deals with the basic issues of shaping based on the theory of fractals as an interdisciplinary direction of modern artistic practices of post-postmodern culture. In the science of the new century, the fractal concept acquired a paradigmatic status and began to be considered as a concept that replaced the classical concept of gestalt, as a result of which the attention of researchers switched to the search and interpretation of specific fractal structures. The article provides examples of modern solutions in the field of architecture and graphic design, in which fractal principles are used. The main stages of the formation of the scientific direction of fractal costumology in chronological order are considered, which show the degree of mastering the new paradigm as a theoretical and methodological basis for further research. Practical developments of fractalist designers since 1980 are summarized. and the methodological basis for the development of the language of fractal costumology, geometric models widely used in artistic practices, is built. As an experimental base, visual and graphic communications of successful fashion brands are selected, in the semantics of which aesthetic characteristics are most manifested. When developing the initial language parameters, the basic systems for evaluating the artistic organization of the I.N. Stor form were used, which are a means of constructing classification tables of the electronic catalog of the Chanel fashion brand. As fractal metaphors, artificial geometric models of the «Harter-Haythaway’s Dragon Polyline», «Sierpinski’s Triangle», «Koch’s Snowflake», «Sierpinski’s Carpet», «Koch’s Surface» traced in fabric drawings and accessories are used. This approach opens up new opportunities for expanding and deepening the issues of shaping and systematization of the fashion style identifiers of each particular brand.
