Abstract. The article discusses the tasks of moral and patriotic education of youth on the basis of the development of recommendations for the formation of a clothing wardrobe using modern garments designed based on the historical traditions of the Cossacks.

Recently, regional authorities, as well as the pedagogical community of a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Southern Federal District, have been paying special attention to the spiritual and moral sphere of development of the young generation. Almost all educational institutions of the Kuban Territory began to widely use programs that provide great opportunities for using the potential of folk culture in raising children to love their country, city, village, and instilling interest in the heritage of their ancestors. Currently, among scientists there is a steady interest in the study of life and traditions of a particular nation. So, in the southern regions of Russia there is a continuous system of Cossack education, which, starting from kindergarten and up to a university, allows children to form a national identity. Studying the features of the historical past of the southern regions, including traditions and customs, today is quite relevant and contributes to the development of personality and an active civic position among the younger generation.
