Abstract. The article discusses the possibility of innovative proposals in technological and decorative methods of embodiment of checkered patterns in modern textile products.

Innovations in costume design most often arise in the study of historically developed technologies, decorative techniques, in experimentation and in combination with modern aesthetic, technological, constructive innovations, in following fashion trends.

The samples developed and presented in the article were evaluated at competitions and festivals of professional fashion. The current state of the fashion industry is aimed at the process of import substitution, so the author’s developments of designers, technologists, constructors are necessary and especially welcome.

In the course of the study, it was revealed that the textile pattern in checks, on the one hand, is associated with textile tradition, constancy, stability, and on the other hand, it is very promising and has great potential for innovation. The new, transforming the tradition, produces the greatest aesthetic effect. To work with technical and decorative methods of creating a cell and the formation of new approaches, it is important to know various types of checkered tissues and the technological features of their creation, transforming which, it is possible to continue the development of new samples that confirm the relevance of the topic.

Innovative ways of creating traditional textile designs, the relevance of innovative methods, depend on various factors, such as fashion trends, technological capabilities and market needs. Innovations in the process of creating or imitating plaid fabric can be focused on new methods of weaving, the use of new printing technologies, the search for modern decorative techniques, and the use of innovative types of raw materials.
