Abstract. This article pays special attention to the fact that orthopedic footwear is a specialized rehabilitation device, the design of which is developed in accordance with the requirements of the national state standard. It emphasizes the need to use orthopedic footwear strictly according to medical recommendations to ensure effective correction and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

The article examines consumers’ understanding of the concept of «orthopedic footwear», their preferences and purchasing behavior. The study found that the purchase of orthopedic footwear and corrective devices made to fit or according to individual foot parameters is relevant for consumers.

It is noted that the activities of the organization and the development of the production of orthopedic footwear require the availability of appropriate permits and licenses issued by authorized federal bodies, and is regulated, in particular, by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, since special attention is paid to the need to provide high-quality, patient-oriented services.

The production of orthopedic footwear is considered an important element of the social sphere and part of the shoe industry, the viability of which is due to the introduction of innovations in technological processes. Particular attention is paid to modern technological solutions associated with the use of digital foot scanning, automated design and 3D printing.

Integration of digital technologies into orthopedic footwear production processes helps to increase the accuracy of diagnostics and individualization of products, optimize production resources, improve the quality of orthopedic products and effectively ensure that footwear matches the anatomical features of the patient. These innovations have a positive impact on the results of treatment and preventive measures, ensuring the comfort and functionality of orthopedic footwear.
