Abstract. The article presents the results of an educational project for schoolchildrens. Additional education of schoolchildrens plays a key role in the development and formation of personality, the choice of professional training trajectory.

In the course of classes, schoolchildrens develop creative and cognitive activity, have the opportunity to realize their personal qualities, demonstrate abilities that are not required by the main education. Omsk state technical University schoolchildrens projects of the pupils’ scientific society «Polytechnic Academy». The aim of the competition is to create a system of selection and support of talented children within the framework of the system of additional education of schoolchildren. The objectives of the competition include, inter alia, positioning the core university as one of the regional centers for further education and support for talented children; formation of a contingent of motivated applicants with project and entrepreneurial skills; stimulation of university employees to participate in the system of additional education of schoolchildrens.

One of the projects that received support was the creative project «Study and development of techniques for decorating author’s fabrics and clothing using sewing waste». The main purpose of which is the formation of schoolchildrens’ careful attitude for natural resources, the development of creative abilities in the process of creating unique samples of copyright fabrics and clothing from recycled materials.

In the learning process, the tasks were set to master the following techniques used in the manufacture and decoration of fabrics: wet felting, knitting from strips of fabric and knitwear, the introduction of additional materials in the basic structure, perforation, patchwork, applique.

According to the authors, the project contributed to the formation of new principles of consumption among the young generation, helped to realize that the environmental problem is of global importance and can be addressed at all levels. Supporting such projects for school children is a powerful tool for developing a harmonious personality that is responsible for its actions.
