Abstract. With the availability of key innovations in related industries (chemical and mechanical engineering), the development of fur fashion has accelerated. Previously, products from expensive furs (sable, mink, lynx, chinchilla) were in demand only in an aristocratic and artistic environment, and for a wide consumer audience, clothes and hats from fur-fur semi-finished products of an economic category (sheepskin, astrakhan, squirrel, groundhog, mole, arctic fox, fox, sea animal, etc.). With the development of new chemical dyes and technological equipment for cutting hair in the manufacture of fur clothes, a new direction has emerged – the design of products made of imitation furs, which contributed to the accessibility of a wide range of clothing consumers with enhanced visual and tactical characteristics. The article presents the characteristics of modern technologies for influencing the structure of fur, which allow changing the natural properties of the hair cover-color, optical and geometric characteristics, the ratio of hairs of different categories, texture. By changing the structure of the skin tissue, new physical and mechanical characteristics close to the properties of textile materials are achieved. One of the results of the introduction of new technologies was the appearance at the beginning of the 21st century of a new non-traditional assortment of fur clothes – dresses, skirts, trousers, tops, blouses. The fur in the products is combined with various materials (wool, silk, jeans, knitwear, leather, plastic). Innovative technologies for cutting fur-fur semi-finished products make it possible to obtain surfaces that are complex in texture, sometimes resembling mosaic panels. Creative fur clothes are becoming available to consumers, and fur fashion is acquiring the trends of annual change of patterns.

The article analyzes the development of fur fashion in the last decade. As a result of the research, the authors identified the predominant characteristics of the style solution of products, priority types of fur in design collections, analyzed innovations in finishing and trends in the combination of companion materials in clothing. The article presents the authors’ classification of fur products by assortment groups.
