Abstract. Among all textiles, no other fabric has received such wide recognition as denim. It is widely used by people of all ages, classes and genders. In the process of using denim garments, the seams are subjected to mechanical stress. The paper has compiled a classification of the types of seams for connecting the details of clothing in a denim assortment. Factors that can affect the reliability of thread connections are identified. As part of the work, a number of experiments and studies were carried out. The samples were assembled by connecting the parts with a “lock” seam, a stitched seam with a finishing stitch, a stitched seam. The samples were dyed using direct and sublimation printing methods, thermal transfer films were applied to a group of samples. The breaking load of the joints, the resistance of the fabric to the expansion of the threads were studied, and the samples were subjected to abrasion tests.
