Abstract. The article proposes to determine the features of the formation of a new aesthetic style based on existing ones that have become classics of the fashion industry. The article focuses on the essence of the fashion trend in the concept of student life and the desire for continuous education and self-development. The fundamental features of the aesthetics of Dark Academia are determined, the moment of its origin is revealed, as well as the prospects for development and further existence. The main attention is paid to identifying significant elements of the costume, their origin and source, as well as specific elements and features of creating images. Examples are given of the influence of Dark Academia aesthetics on popular culture, the world of high fashion and the attitude of the younger generation to education.
The aesthetics of Dark Academia will remain relevant for a long time, since the learning process, which is the basis for the style, does not stop. The atmosphere of an educational institution, close-knit groups of friends, and the competitive spirit, familiar to everyone, permeate the aesthetics through and through. And while the dark and macabre aspects that have become integral to the aesthetic mood of Dark Academia, such as conspiracies, murders, secrets and more, are not relevant to educational activities in real life, they do add awe and excitement to a familiar environment. Therefore, Dark Academia has a long future ahead of it, it has huge potential for development and a lot of time to conquer fashion catwalks.
