Abstract.<\/strong> The article is devoted to the consideration of topical issues related to the study and development of cultural heritage, in particular, the traditional Russian folk costume. The Russian folk costume with its individual parts is a unique monument of the material and spiritual culture of our people. The folk costume reflects the rich spiritual and aesthetic possibilities, nobility, wisdom, ingenuity of the Russian people, his idea of beauty. It concentrates culture and history, accumulated and improved over many centuries. The authors note that in the Russian folk costume a lot of attention was paid to the headdress as the most important, original and bright part of the women’s costume. The headdress completed the whole ensemble and was an obligatory addition to the image of a woman and a girl. Of all the variety of headdresses, the kokoshnik was especially loved, which has become entrenched in the minds of modern people as the main accessory of the Russian folk costume. The kokoshnik was decorated with a variety of ornaments using various techniques, richly decorated with pearls, multi-colored beads, glass beads, mother-of-pearl, braid, flowers, precious stones, embroidered with gold and silver, and expensive fabrics were used. In the work, the authors presented materials showing that the Kokoshnik theme was vividly reflected in literature and art, being the richest source of creativity. Many Russian and foreign designers use this headdress in their collections of modern clothes. Today, folk costumes with kokoshniks can be seen on catwalks, social events, and stylized parties. Studies have shown that the Russian folk costume, its constituent elements, in particular its brightest part \u2014 the kokoshnik, continue to excite specialists in various fields of activity (ethnographers, art historians, artists, designers, etc.) for several centuries, being an inexhaustible source of creative inspiration and new ideas.<\/p>\n
