In the metaverse and on social media pages, digital clothing models can demonstrate any shape and geometric, physical and mechanical properties of materials. The design of digital copies and the execution of virtual fittings of products made in the material should be based on the study and specification of their properties. The authors analyzed the methods of visual assessment of silhouette shape, which can be used to compare real and virtual fittings of conical clothing models. The article gives a detailed description of the modules of the Assyst design automation system, which allows you to edit avatars, simulate the properties of textile materials and perform virtual fitting of clothing models.

The methods used were an experimental study of the properties of textile materials, a non-contact photogrammetric method for determining the angles of the outline of the conical shape of the product in the frontal projection, as well as theoretical and practical provisions for the design of sewing products. To conduct a comparative analysis of the results of real and virtual fitting of skirts of the «half-sun» cut, three different types of material were selected: chiffon, blouse and raincoat fabric with water-repellent impregnation. The authors conducted laboratory studies of the fibrous composition and geometric properties of the selected samples. The obtained indicators were included in the module for simulating the physical properties of CAD materials Assyst — Material Wizard. In the course of the study, skirts of the «half-sun» cut were made. The use of conical shapes in the design of clothing models makes it possible to assess to a greater extent the possibilities of simulating the properties of materials and, as a result, the correspondence of the virtual fitting to the real one. In the article, the angle of inclination of the outline of the model in the profile projection was chosen as the evaluation criterion. Based on the results of the real and virtual fitting, it was found that digital copies of chiffon and raincoat fabrics were made as accurately as possible to the real model of the skirt. When visualizing a virtual fitting of a blouse skirt, the angle of inclination of the outline is less by 1.3 degrees than that of the real sample. Thus, in order to design virtual models of clothing for their further launch into production, it is necessary to investigate the properties of materials in order to perform the most realistic visualization.

Keywords: textile materials; visualization; virtual fitting; skirt; conical shape; simulation of materials

Evdushchenko Elena Vladimirovna Omsk State Technical University, Omsk, Russia E-mail: evd.chi@gmail.com ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3692-2587 RSCI: https://elibrary.ru/author_profile.asp?id=574248 Fot Zhanna Andreevna Omsk State Technical University, Omsk, Russia E-mail: zhanna_fot@mail.ru RSCI: https://elibrary.ru/author_profile.asp?id=512789 Abstract.
