To explore the fashion of the Baroque era, its design and patterns construction is possible only by historical museum and art sources. The main thing in the study of historical Baroque costume is undoubtedly the portraits painted by European artists in the XVII\u2013XVIII centuries, such as: Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Titian, Rembrandt, Durer, Cranach, Hals, Gainsborough, de Champaign, Fragonard, Rigaud, Porbuel, Van Dyck, Coello, Lefebre, de Troyes, de Lajillera and others. The paintings of famous European Baroque artists are not only magnificent works of art, but also represent a valuable historical heritage, demonstrating to us the boundless breadth of decorative and constructive solutions of costumes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The article examines the aesthetics of the Baroque through the prism of portraits of great artists, which depict the fashion of that time in great details. Based on the study of the artists&#8217; heritage, the main features of the Baroque style in clothing are described, the characteristics of the costumes of various European countries (France, Spain, Italy, England) are characterized, the revealed features of the cut and shaping of clothing are described, the use of luxurious fabrics, bright colors, exquisite finishes and jewelry is emphasized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Using the example of portraits of the XVII\u2013XVIII centuries\u2019 artists it is shown that the Baroque era was a time of exquisite and luxurious costume, where every detail had meaning and symbolic meaning. The fashion of that time reflected the social status, tastes and preferences of people, and became an important part of art and culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The data obtained are necessary for the reconstructive reconstruction of Baroque clothing and the design of modern clothing with elements of historical cut.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> baroque; court costume; historical costume; portrait; Baroque style fashion; shaping; Western European Art<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kalinova Tatayna Nikolaevna Russian State University named A.N.
