Abstract.<\/strong> The work found that the use of ethylene vinyl acetate waste in the production of shoe soles increases the level of product defects. An increase in the use of secondary waste in the composition leads to an increase in porosity, which affects the wear resistance of products. As the porosity increases, the resistance to repeated bending decreases, and the time required to restore the original thickness of the sole increases after the load is removed. The dependence of the wear resistance of the sole on the porosity, which is expressed by a polynomial of the second degree, is revealed. With an increase in the percentage of pores with a diameter from 0,07 to 0,09 mm, the abrasion resistance decreases, which means that the product wears out faster, and the residual deformation during compression increases, with an increase of about 5 % with an increase in the percentage. Differences in molecular weight and composition compared to primary ethylene vinyl acetate affect the foaming process, which leads to a different foam structure and changes in its density, size and cell distribution, which affect the mechanical properties of the material. The positive effect of recycling polymer raw materials is to reduce the cost of production and reduce production waste. The reasons for the increase in product defects are changes in the structure of the polymer material, which can be reduced or completely eliminated due to changes in the formulation of the polymer mixture and adjustments to the technological operations of preparing raw materials and mixing the components of the composition. The best ratio of the components of the composition can be determined by determining the porosity of the prototypes: 24,0 % of the soles of the soles to the total weight of the composition is the best option while maintaining the wear resistance of the products.<\/p>\n
