Presents a comparative analysis of motorcyclists’ anthropometric parameters under static and dynamic conditions, evaluating the accuracy of their reproduction by 3D avatar models. The research demonstrates that while virtual models provide high measurement accuracy in static conditions (error < 1,5 %, correlation coefficient r > 0,98), statistically significant discrepancies (p < 0,05) were observed under dynamic conditions, particularly pronounced in high-mobility zones — the shoulder complex (Δ up to 2,1 cm for shoulder slope length) and cervical region (Δ 1,3 cm for anterior neck base height). The obtained data enabled development of correction factors (1,03–1,18) to account for dynamic deformations in protective gear design.

The practical significance of this research lies in establishing a methodology for combined use of virtual and physical measurements, optimizing the development process of motorcycle protective equipment. The proposed approach reduces the number of required fittings by 40 % for parameters with high correlation (R² > 0,9) while maintaining fit accuracy. These findings contribute to improving digital modeling techniques for specialized protective clothing considering actual dynamic loads.

The obtained static and dynamic measurements were applied to calculate movement allowances in motorcycle jacket pattern development, demonstrating the practical application of the research findings for protective gear design.

Keywords: 3D avatars; motorcyclist anthropometry; dynamic measurements; protective equipment design; virtual modeling; biomechanical modeling; digital human models; ergonomic assessment; motorcycle; ergonomics

Kornilova Irina Dmitrievna Russian State University named A.N.
