Scientific research indicates that morphological differences in support surfaces influence the visual perception and fit of the designed garment. In this context, the authors conducted a study of standard female mannequins and digital mannequins to determine their morphological similarity.

The article presents an algorithm for conducting a comparative analysis of digital avatars and standard female mannequins, which includes: parameterization and analysis of anthropometric measurements of physical mannequins; parameterization and analysis of anthropometric measurements of avatars; and a pairwise analysis of the anthropometric measurements of physical and digital mannequins. The comparative analysis involves the use of organoleptic and measurement methods, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software, as well as Texel Portal MX non-contact 3D scanning technology to represent the physical mannequins in a digital format.

The authors examined physical mannequins from different manufacturers and digital avatars from Clo3D and Style3D software. They experimentally established that, despite the conformity of the circumferential dimensional parameters of the mannequins and avatars, all studied objects exhibit differences in the contours of horizontal cross-sections at the main structural levels (bust, waist, hips) and in the spatial orientation of the torso, which determine visual differences in the external form. The obtained results are interpreted as evidence that specifying only the basic circumferential measurements that determine the figure size is insufficient to ensure an adequate transition between the physical and digital design environments. The geometry of the support surface, determined by the geometric and anthropometric correspondence of their external form, is also of key importance.

Keywords: digital clothing design; female mannequin; digital female mannequin; avatar; support surface; morphological similarity; comparative analysis

Suleymanova Elena Alexandrovna Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan, Russia E-mail: elena.a.suleymanova@gmail.com RSCI: https://elibrary.ru/author_profile.asp?id=737011 Kovalenko Yulia Alexandrovna Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan, Russia E-mail: julia_a_kov@mail.ru RSCI: https://elibrary.ru/author_profile.asp?id=792957 Tikhonova Natalia Vasilevna Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan, Russia E-mail: nata.tikhonova.81@mail.ru …

[51,5

post-3008","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-vol11-no1","category-article
["GET
