A demand is emerging for original, diverse clothing that should meet the ever\u2011growing demand of consumers. In the field of clothing design, aesthetic qualities, visual appeal, and individuality become priorities. A mock\u2011up method of form\u2011generation can serve as a means of achieving aesthetic goals. This method enables both the realization of designers\u2019 creative ideas and the search for new forms, as well as the process of technological preparation of models for mass or serial production. The use of the mock\u2011up method gives designers the opportunity to study and apply the plastic properties of materials, ensure a high\u2011quality fit on the figure, and identify optimal technological techniques. The aim of this study is to substantiate the relevance of the mock\u2011up method of costume shaping in modern conditions. As part of the study, domestic and foreign current publications and modern literary sources on the topic of costume shaping and the use of the mock\u2011up method in clothing design were examined. The study yielded data on the significance of this method in the development of innovative costume forms and its application in industrial production. Special attention is paid to the importance of studying this method by future designers in order to enhance their creative potential.
