To study the conductivity, the four-point test method was used. The study showed that samples with complex surface geometry have extremely unstable results. It has been established that for the design of “smart” clothing, including flexible printed circuit boards, it is advisable to use plain weave fabrics made from artificial fibers. A study was made of the change in the conductivity of contact paths depending on the number of washes. For the reason that the contact tracks from conductive inks deposited by the coating method are crumbled, it is proposed to additionally lay sewing stitches from conductive threads to increase the life of the flexible printed circuit board and increase the stability of signal transmission. Based on the results of the study, recommendations are proposed for laying traces of flexible printed circuit boards on a textile basis. It is recommended to apply conductive ink on top of the filament, if necessary, to achieve a minimum resistance. When screen printing contact tracks, it is recommended to use conductive inks with reduced stiffness in a frozen form, for which it is proposed to use thermoplastic polyurethane as a plasticizer. It is also proposed to cover the contact paths with insulating plastisol ink in all areas that do not require capacitive reading of the electrical signal. The data obtained are necessary for the formation of a textile fabric design methodology that integrates electrically conductive elements in the structure and the development of the tracing process – the procedures for laying current-carrying tracks in the design of flexible printed circuit boards that are introduced into the design of smart clothes.

Keywords: smart clothes; e-textile; flexible printed circuit boards; conductive ink; conductivity

Tsogoev Igor Kharitonovich Russian state university named A.N.
