The authors have developed new special experimental equipment for studying the explosive characteristics of chilled textile materials for special heat-protective clothing. An analysis of the research of scientists working in the field of heat-protective properties of clothing and materials is presented, a patent search is carried out. The range of modern textile upper materials for heat-protective special clothing is substantiated and experimental studies have been carried out on new equipment for a number of materials at low temperature in the conditions of cyclic freezing of samples for heat-protective clothing. The dependence of the discontinuous characteristics on the fibrous composition and surface density under conditions of actual cooling for various modes of cyclic freezing has been established, it follows that mixed fabrics are less susceptible to destruction upon freezing, and subsequently to breaking loads.
