Abstract. In this paper, the influence of modern trends of beauty industry in value orientations of modern society. The article presents the results of the authors ‘ study on the impact of fashion on modern girls was conducted based on the Arzamas branch of Nizhny Novgorod state University. Based on the actual data, the conclusion that many modern girls (75%) have self-esteem medium and low level, which is associated with the criteria of ideal beauty imposed by the fashion world.
