Abstract. This article is devoted to the study of the processes of the origin and evolution of digital fashion. The paper attempts to systematize the key stages of its development, highlight the distinctive characteristics of each of them, and identify the cause-and-effect relationships that have determined the current state of the digital environment in the fashion industry. The modern view of the digitalization of the fashion industry opens up new opportunities for both designers and consumers. The study analyzes the state of the traditional sector of the fashion industry in order to identify the degree of influence of digital fashion on its key processes. The article also presents a hypothesis on how digital fashion can transform the existing system of tailoring and distribution of clothing. The authors analyzed the current situation of the traditional sector of the fashion industry in order to assess the degree of applicability and impact of digital fashion on its development. The influence of factors such as globalization and the accelerated development of modern technologies in the fields of entertainment and marketing on the formation of the phenomenon of digital fashion is considered. Special attention is paid to the problems faced by this new direction, as well as the prospects for its further growth. The role of technological advances such as computer graphics, virtual reality and 3D modeling, which are becoming important elements of success for modern designers and brands, is being evaluated. The authors propose an algorithm for the interaction of participants in the fashion industry, adapted to the conditions of digital fashion, which shows that the integration of digitalization technologies into global industrial processes of light industry will contribute to increasing consumer satisfaction by personalizing products, as well as reducing the risk of overproduction.
