Abstract. The article presents the results of marketing studies of the preferences of residents of the southern region on the choice of modern women’s clothing using the historical traditions of the Cossacks. The authors conducted marketing research and studied the awareness and preferences of the population with respect to women’s Cossack clothing in the southern regions of Russia: the territory of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territory, the Rostov Region. Respondents live in four cities: Armavir, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don. The work is part of the dissertation research.

Constantly increasing interest in folk culture, and to a greater extent directly to the artistic objects of a particular nationality, increases the interest of modern scholars, researchers and fashion designers to this topic.

To introduce young people to the cultural values of the Don Cossacks, to preserve historical memory, to strengthen and develop the continuity of generations can be different methods. When creating new types of clothing, it is necessary to determine the interest of the inhabitants of the south of our country to the national costume, as the bearer of folk traditions.

The presented drawings are copyright and represent the analysis of the results of the personal data of the survey respondents.

The presence of a large volume of data from a sociological survey will be used in the development of methods for designing modern women’s clothing of the Cossacks.
