Abstract. Every year in modern industry, more and more attention is paid to personal protective equipment for personnel, which requires studying the quality indicators of special-purpose footwear and the materials used to make shoe parts. The article presents the main legal acts regulating the electrical resistance of shoes, and a classification of shoes according to the ranges of electrical resistance has been developed.
The author presents an analysis of the regulatory and technical documentation of antistatic floor coverings in the Russian legal field. The main types of antistatic floors have been identified, specific regulatory acts, basic definitions, standards, limits, classifications and technological features of antistatic floor coverings have been identified, especially in the «antistatic shoes-antistatic floor» model.
To study the electrical resistance of special footwear, a method was used to determine the electrical resistance of solid flat materials based on the VKG A-770 device. The relaxation time constant of the electrostatic charge was measured using an automated express technique. Samples of special footwear from Russian companies with different bottom materials were taken as objects of research.
Measurements of the electrical resistance of the systems were carried out: special shoes, «person — special shoes — grounding point», «person — special shoes — floor covering», «person — special shoes — antistatic floor covering».
Based on the data obtained, it was established that out of eleven samples of special shoes, three of which are marked as protective shoes against static electricity, only one sample passes the electrostatic safety standards in terms of the electrical resistance of the bottom materials. Not a single sample meets the requirements of antistatic protection in terms of relaxation of electrostatic charges.
