Abstract. The prospect of introducing printing technology in the production of clothing is very relevant. In this period of time, 3D printing technologies are enjoying great success on the catwalks and shows of modern fashion houses, but the textile industry is an industry that has not yet fully realized the potential from the introduction of 3D printing technology. This is because the synthetic materials available for 3D printing are not flexible enough or comfortable enough to be used as textiles or clothing. In the article, on the example of the production of author’s clothing models, the variants of using three-dimensional printing technologies by selective laser sintering, laser stereolithography, PolyJet, MJM technologies based on multi-jet modeling using polymer material; modeling by molten filament deposition are considered. The authors analyzed the materials used in the manufacture of samples, modeling techniques, and also considered the possibility of providing clothing items with additional functionality through the use of printing technology. The article discusses the creative ideas of such designers as Anouk Wipprecht, Julia Davy, designers of the fashion house «three AS FOUR», Pauline van Dongen, Chiara Giusti, and analyzes the characteristics of the materials used for printing. The analysis carried out in the work shows the wide possibilities of using printing technology to create new catwalk ideas and images, but the mass production of clothing using printing technologies requires other resources. In particular, when printing everyday clothing, a completely different material should be used in its hygienic properties similar to the materials used in the traditional design and manufacture of clothing.
