Abstract. Professions related to the adverse effects of heavy physical labor on the musculoskeletal system of the worker exist in many sectors of the economy. Lifting and moving heavy loads, working with heavy tools for a long time can be attributed to heavy physical exertion. Risk factors for occupational diseases of the musculoskeletal system, occupational injuries and disability arise. An industrial exoskeleton will protect the musculoskeletal system of a worker from physical overloads. An industrial exoskeleton is a device attached to the human body, which allows to reduce or eliminate the effects of harmful and dangerous factors of the difficult labor process by rationally redistributing the load on parts of the user’s musculoskeletal system. The types of modern industrial exoskeletons are very diverse. The classification of exoskeletons was developed by the authors of the article based on the analysis of scientific and technical literature. An overview of passive industrial exoskeletons, which are characterized by low cost, low weight, simple design, and increased mobility, is presented in the article. A sample of a universal passive exoskeleton was developed at the Department of Design and Technology of Light Industry Products of OmSTU. Men and women of different sizes can be users of this exoskeleton due to the special design and adjustments provided in the main sections. The exoskeleton sample is based on the backpack design and includes three modules connected by a fastening system. Special attention is paid to the analysis of technological solutions of the main nodes of the exoskeleton. The schemes of their processing are presented. The proposed design and technological solutions may be of practical interest to specialists of industry enterprises in the design and manufacture of universal passive exoskeletons.
