Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the stability of a water-repellent composition based on aminosilane and chloroparaffin, applied to cellulose-containing textile materials made of 100% cotton, under repeated hydromechanical influences simulating real operation. Changes in water-repellent and flame-retardant properties after five washing cycles are considered. The relevance of the research is due to the need to develop work clothes made of cellulose-containing materials that combine the basic properties of cotton (hygienic and physico-mechanical) with effective protective characteristics (water resistance, fire resistance). The importance of maintaining these properties throughout the entire period of operation is dictated by occupational hygiene standards and increased stress on work clothes. The applied research methods included rapid testing of water resistance in terms of the time of absorption of a drop of water, assessment of fire resistance according to GOST R 12.4.200-99, as well as analysis of changes in the mass of experimental samples after each wash and the pH of flushes. The results showed that the developed water-repellent composition based on aminosilane grade A-1100 and chloro-paraffin grade HP-470 provides consistently high water-repellent and flame-retardant properties even after repeated washings. A slight loss of hydrophobicity (up to 17 %) and fire resistance (up to 25 %) was recorded after five washing cycles, which indicates a high stability of the fixation of the components of the composition on the experimental fibers of the textile material. Thus, this study is of significant scientific and applied interest for improving the technologies of final finishing of cellulose-containing textile materials designed to protect against common industrial pollutants.
