Abstract. The conditions of fierce competition, increasing environmental safety, the growth of online sales, and the development of the principles of conscious fashion dictate that enterprises in the garment industry produce products that are most in demand among consumers, increasingly introducing mass customization technologies. Modern buyers are no longer ready to constantly purchase clothes of mass fashion. Products that can be changed taking into account personal consumer preferences in color, decor, silhouette, etc. attract buyers. Clothing customization — is one of the main directions of eco–friendly fashion. The concept of customization is responsible consumption of things, contributing to the conservation of natural resources and a positive impact on the environment.
The main directions of clothing customization: reshaping products, adding decorative elements, drawing drawings in various ways, as well as a combination of the above directions in one product are highlighted in the article.
Drawing in the technique of «hand-painted fabric» is one of the promising ways to create a unique product and emphasize the individuality of the consumer. The methods and styles of drawing patterns on fabric, as well as the types of tools used, are discussed in the article. Special attention is paid to the production of samples of fabric painting in two styles: watercolor and realistic drawing of flowers. The sequence of execution of the painting on the fabric is presented. The stages of fabric painting are described. Capsule collections of women’s summer clothes have been developed. Application options for fabric painting on individual capsule elements are proposed. The mudboard, created based on the analysis of the costumes of the participants of the Met Gala 2024, is designed to visualize the concept of collections.
The practical implementation of the proposed options for patterns on fabricfor clothing will allow, firstly, to personalize mass-produced clothes for a specific consumer, and secondly, to extend the product’s life cycle, thereby increasing environmental safety.
