Abstract. The article describes the result of a study of the technology of tailoring the body, taking into account the preferences of consumers. The analysis of the most popular models from the point of view of purpose, style, choice of material and technology of tailoring of a body as a basic model of a wardrobe is carried out. In order to study the requirements of potential buyers to the technology of tailoring body as a garment, the authors developed and conducted a questionnaire survey. The study conducted by the authors allowed us to establish that for 59,3 % of respondents, the body is the basic element of the wardrobe. At the same time, 66 % of respondents noted the factor of impeccable appearance; 57,4 % indicated the possibility of making a lot of different images, since there is a large selection of models; 44,7 % highlighted such a function as providing heat; 29,8 % noted the body as sportswear; 10,6 % rated comfort and convenience. The results of the survey allowed the authors to identify the most popular styles and materials for the body and their color scheme. The greatest preference (48,9 %) was given to such models as body shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, T-shirts; lace body (23,4 %); body underwear (23,4 %); sports body (4,3 %), while each of the respondents forms their own individual image: business (42,6 %), casual (38,3 %), evening (10,6 %), sports (8,5 %). the next step was to identify the most important factors when choosing a body: for consumers, it is important what material the product will be made of and how well it will be sewn (76,6 %); «brand» is important for 25,5 % of respondents; price is of primary importance for 21,3 %, and appearance for 17 % of respondents surveyed. Analysis of the survey results showed that for the majority of consumers (91,5 %), the choice of the material from which the body is made is important, depending on the intended purpose.
