Abstract. This article presents an analysis of the factors that have determined the public interest in the use of innovative eco-friendly technologies for fashion design. The consequences of globalization and the solution of environmental problems attract the attention of consumers to new design methods that ensure the sustainability of fashion through the reuse of resources. Upcycling in the fashion business is considered as a promising method for designing fashion clothes taking into account environmental issues.

The study of the upcycling method includes various aspects. Despite the numerous publications on this issue, there are relatively few studies of the processes of implementing this artistic method in real clothing design. The purpose of this study is to analyze the parameters of using upcycling technologies in clothing design at the present stage.

To study the problem, the results of the activities of foreign and Russian brands were analyzed through monitoring the development of the trend of ecological fashion in seasonal collections, monitoring and summarizing the experience of using upcycling technologies in clothing models.

The article discusses current technologies for processing textile materials, ways to implement the clothing design process using upcycling technologies, and the possibilities of improving the processes of designing clothing models using the upcycling method.

As a result of the study, it was revealed that an eco-friendly approach to the process of designing clothes is currently being implemented through a system of sustainable fashion and conscious consumption. To slow down fashion, methods of recycling raw materials and design technologies are used. It is noted that upcycling is a promising method of designing fashionable clothes. To determine the parameters for improving the design process using the upcycling method, the possibilities of introducing modern digital technologies are considered.
