Principle of interpretation of graphic art as an artistic method in the Petersburg designers works

Abstract. For modern fashion practices interpretation method is one of the main in designers’ works. Interpretation performs like a search b creation of “new” in fashion and the same time it is a release from the given forms and frames, thereby forming freedom of creation. In the article attention emphasizes on understanding original and copy distinguishing; original source and its transformation; and authorship respectively. Attention is paid to Petersburg designers’ artistic methods connected with principle of interpretation – borrowing, quoting and stylization. Collaborations Petersburg brands with graphic artists being considered as well. Peculiarity of the Petersburg designers works in appeal to artistic and cultural heritage is determined.
