Abstract. The purpose of this article is to study one of the forgotten wedding ceremonies of the Crimean Tatars «Dokuzlyk». Today, almost all of the information about this tradition and about the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people has been lost. The forced eviction (deportation) of the Crimean Tatars took place in the last year of the Great Patriotic War, after the liberation of the peninsula from the Nazi invaders. In the modern world, the law of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people is recognized as an act of genocide, which is why, one of the most pressing and important issues in the Crimean culture is the revival of the traditions of the Crimean Tatars. The historical background has been studied about their response in the culture of the Crimean Tatars, which is closely connected with the history of Crimea that absorbed the traditions of sedentary and nomadic peoples. This article studies the specifics of making a wedding gift for the bridegroom – «Dokuzlyk», «dokhus» or «kiev chamashir». It should be noted that the Crimean Tatars took the wedding ceremony very seriously, the bride prepared everything concerning wedding gift herself, she would be taught to do it from a young age. The authors reviewed and described all nine handmade items included in «Dokuzlyk». An analysis of the sign system was carried out, since the symbols and signs in the ornamental composition are images in which the ethnic memory is encoded. The most common elements of the ornament for embroidery of the Crimean Tatar people, such as badem, tulip, pomegranate, tree of life and others, have been analyzed. For greater clarity, in the article you can see photos of the embroidery of these elements.
