Abstract. The article analyzes the products used or recommended for use in conditions of low temperatures. By the example of assortment of products developed for expeditionary and military personnel working and living on the territory of Arctic and Arctic shelf as well as for climbers the variants of technical, technological and constructive solution of clothing set are studied in detail. One of the actual solutions is the use in the suits and coveralls of technologies of protection of a human body from cooling, as which in products is used both a specific package of materials and heaters, and technical means of heating with the help of heating elements. Membranes are actively used as an outer layer in the products. Membranes do not allow moisture to penetrate into the clothing package, but at the same time provide good air permeability, which is very important for the snowy Arctic climate. Membranes are windproof and lightweight material. For the middle layer in products natural or synthetic insulators are used. The right combination of a package of materials can significantly increase the CLO index — a measure of the insulating properties of the package. Based on the analysis of real models of overalls designed to operate in conditions of low temperatures, it is concluded that manufacturers prefer goose down with an index of Fill Power 800+ as an insulator. This type of down is excellent for use in conditions of low temperatures, holds warmth well, with a special treatment does not absorb moisture. Also in the process of studying the suits on the market it was found that the technology of using heating elements in the products is of interest. The article analyzes the assortment of heating elements, technologies of their functioning and rational locations.
