Abstract. The modern fashion world is experiencing a period of active search for new forms of self-expression and turns to the cultural heritage of different nations, developing ethnic style. Clothes in the ethno style can be not only attractive and comfortable, but also carry a deep meaning, expressing a harmonious combination of innovations and traditions. In the course of the study, the authors found that Russian designers are interested in the national motifs of the Kazakh costume, whose visual codes have not yet been sufficiently studied. These include composition and rhythmic structure, features of the artistic structure, decorative solution and semantic features. The study of Kazakh ethnicity allowed the authors to find a creative basis for developing a mini collection of clothes of current forms, which organically combines fashion trends, elements of folk cut, classic color solutions and ornaments.
