Abstract. The article deals with the development of multifunctional transformable women’s clothing. Multifunctional clothing provides the maximum variety of appearance with a minimum of funds and time, which is especially important on trips.

The multifunctionality of the products proposed by the authors of this article is ensured through the use of transformation elements and bilateral materials. The products are made by students of the Technological and Economic Faculty of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after I.Ya. Yakovlev as part of pre-diploma practices.

The article discloses features of methods of transformation of clothing, such as «turning out», which allows to obtain a product of a different color and/or texture and «separation – attachment» of parts or elements of clothing.

Sketches and photos of sewn products are presented, their description is given. The work considers multifunctional products of different assortment: a double-sided insulated transformable coat, a jacket made of double-sided quilted material, a double-sided summer coat made of neoprene, a convertible suit with pleating trim, a multifunctional convertible suit made of denim fabric.

Special attention is paid to the following processing methods: the transformation unit of a double-sided insulated coat from a single-tone costume fabric on one side and a colored poplin on the other; pocket and side seams of jacket made of double-sided stitched material; pocket of two-sided summer neoprene coat; transformer suit transformation unit with pleating trim.

A feature of a multifunctional female transformer suit made of denim fabric, consisting of four items of clothing: a jacket, dress, top and trousers is the use of the «separation – attachment» transformation method of parts (cuffs of trousers) and a clothing element (basks) due to the zipper fastener; all sections on the back side of the jacket are treated with an oblique bake (ready-made braid in the tone of a material with a fine pattern).

The proposed multifunctional garments, the transformation of which takes place with a minimum of time, are able to meet the needs of a modern person living an active dynamic life, and also save resources.
