Abstract. Shoes play one of the most important roles affecting the health of children during adulthood. It should contribute to the proper development of the foot. In recent years, there has been a tendency of deterioration of health among schoolchildren. Functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system occupy one of the ranking places. It can be assumed that incorrectly selected or low-quality shoes can influence the development of diseases of this system as influencing factors. The purpose of the work is to study the requirements for children’s school shoes based on regulatory documentation and develop a nomenclature of quality indicators. It is very important that the consumer is responsible for the choice and use of high-quality products, and the manufacturer for its manufacture.
In the article, the authors reviewed the data of studies on the health of schoolchildren in recent years; an analysis of TR CU 007/2011 and GOST 26165-2003 «Children’s shoes. General technical conditions», regulating the requirements for shoes, including school shoes: girls’ school, girls’ school, boys’ school and boys’ school; a list of quality indicators for school-age children has been developed; some problems related to the quality of shoes in the Russian Federation at present are given.
Shoes used by school-age children should be made of safe and high-quality materials. Natural leather and other materials for shoes must meet specific requirements, be characterized by resistance to sweat and external factors. High-quality shoes provide comfort when worn; suitable for everyday use; fixed on the foot; its appearance corresponds to the style of the school uniform; has information about the size, model or article of the product, the materials of the upper, lining and sole, the condition of operation and shoe care, as well as labeling.
To ensure quality in the production of school shoes, an integrated approach is necessary in compliance with quality requirements.
