Abstract. This article is a comprehensive historical study of the evolution of pediatrician’s medical attire, covering the period from ancient times to the present day. It analyzes the transformation of clothing through the lens of functionality, hygiene requirements, psychological impact on patients (especially children), and socio-cultural context. Special attention is paid to how technological innovations have impacted the materials, design, and capabilities of pediatrician uniforms. The role of the white coat, introduced in the 19th century as a symbol of sterility thanks to antiseptic techniques, is also explored in detail. The article analyzes various materials used in pediatricians’ costumes, ranging from natural fabrics to modern synthetic materials with antibacterial properties. It emphasizes the importance of incorporating bright colors, game elements, and play therapy into the costume to reduce stress for children. Examples are given of how these elements can promote trust between doctors and patients. The article also compares costumes in different countries, considering the influence of cultural traditions, climate, and expectations on design. It discusses the concept of sustainable development, emphasizing the use of eco-friendly materials. In conclusion, the article argues that the pediatrician’s uniform is a multifaceted tool that reflects the history of medicine and culture, while contributing to creating a comfortable and secure environment for children’s treatment.
