Abstract. The article deals with the problems of researching the processes of dusty air passing through textile materials as part of miner’s special clothing. It is shown that the existing approaches to the assessment of safety parameters of clothing sets in the aspect of protection of the worker from coal dust do not reflect the physical essence of the processes of air filtration through their structure with the deposition of dust particles in the material.
For a more accurate analysis of the processes of passage and accumulation of dust in textile material it is proposed to use numerical models that allow to calculate the parameters of movement through its structure of dust particles of different fractions, as well as the intensity of dust deposition on threads. Microscopic studies of coal dust have been carried out, which allowed to establish its fractional composition. A numerical model of dusty air movement through the textile material was developed, including a model of the textile material, dusty and clean air regions, which reproduce the mine environment and the space inside the clothing package (or underclothing space). Equations for all dust interactions with the textile fabric structure are introduced into the model.
The results of numerical modeling of processes of dusty air passage through textile materials of different weave are presented. Refined dependences are developed, which allow to calculate values of specific dust permeability and dust capacity separately by characteristic fractions. Differences in fractional and integral indices of specific dust permeability and dust capacity are shown. Generalized results of experimental verification are presented.
As a result, differences in the intensity of dust accumulation in textile fabrics depending on the type of weave and dimensions of structural elements of fabrics (diameters of fabric threads, distances between threads).
