Abstract. The article examines the specific features of functional warehouse logistics in the light industry, as well as the levels of its automation and robotization. The use of such data presupposes the improvement of processes related to resource interaction during storage and transportation. The purpose of the study is to establish a typology of warehouse facilities and the stages of their digital support in order to increase the efficiency of comprehensive logistics processes. It is shown that the design of an innovative type of warehouse architecture requires such an organizational structure that incorporates all available contemporary information and technology systems for optimizing ongoing storage processes and operations involving inventory assets. To determine the functional affiliation of a warehouse and ensure subsequent operational coordination of supplies, specific types of stored resources are identified. Achieving a particular level of automation and robotization, necessary for transitioning to subsequent stages of more technologically advanced warehouse functioning, is determined by the «intelligent» optimization of resource exchange in the design of next-generation warehouse operations. It is noted that the concept of a «smart warehouse» makes it possible to create a unified information and technology profile of a storage facility, thereby increasing the effectiveness of logistics operations. Further application of the obtained results is possible in the design of new warehouse facilities, as well as in the improvement and digital transformation of existing warehouse infrastructure at light industry enterprises. The research is conducted in accordance with the Research plan of the Kosygin State University for 2024–2028, project No. 2.12 «Synergy of leather goods production processes under digitalization», stage 3 «Development of a knowledge base for item retrieval in the information repository».
