Abstract. Organizing small-scale or one-off production is a complex task. For some young professionals or project teams, it is important to find simple and understandable tools, the use of which can simplify the planning and organization of single or small-scale sewing production. Young specialists require deep knowledge and professionalism in solving the problems of organizing their own production, necessary for the manufacture of clothing. The authors have not identified such tools in the open press. Therefore, the purpose of this article was to develop a functional model for designing a set of clothing and its small-scale production. In the article, a functional model is understood as a graphic and textual representation of processes arranged in a logical sequence. The process consists of seven main stages. The first was asked to assign the development of technical specifications, including: the name and purpose of the designed product; requirements for the product and materials. The second stage proposes the development of a technical proposal, including the choice of fashion direction; analysis of analogue models; characterization and analysis of proposal models; description of the appearance of the designed kit, and the selection and justification of materials for the product. The third is the development of a technical project, including: a design system; initial data for constructing a design drawing; design development. The fourth stage is the development of a detailed design, and the fifth is the choice of production technology. The sixth was the organization of production, calculation and analysis of flow. The final stage is technical and economic calculations. The first three stages of the model are considered in more detail. A women’s set of three pieces of clothing was taken as an example and testing. The result of the article was the development of a conceptual scheme for creating a functional model, part of it was examined and tested on a specific example.
