Abstract. Digital tools (computer-aided design systems, 3D modeling software, virtual fitting services, 3D printing technologies, etc.) help light industry designers create virtual prototypes, visualize and experiment with the characteristics of an object while reducing the number of their material counterparts. In addition, they play an important role in organizing a system of remote product manufacturing technology, which is especially important for people with disabilities who do not have the opportunity to have direct contact with designers for a variety of reasons. The article discusses the experience of the Federal Scientific and Educational Center for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation named after G.A. Albrecht in implementing this system based on the software developed by DiaServis LLC. The authors propose an algorithm for designing clothing for people with disabilities using modern, more accessible digital tools (graphic editors, software for designing patterns and patterns, universal and specialized CAD systems, 3D or 3D-based design systems, 3D visualization software, virtual fitting rooms, and artificial intelligence). The systematic use of digital tools in the design of clothing for people with disabilities will increase the speed of order processing and data collection, speed up the production cycle, and reduce the cost of the product. It will also create databases on the morphological changes of people with disabilities, databases of «relatively typical» designs, and databases of design solutions for specific consumers or groups of health conditions. The proposed algorithm allows for a two-step evaluation of the digital project (by a specialist and the customer). The article outlines the limitations of the algorithm’s implementation, the prospects for research in the field of anthropometric characteristics of people with disabilities, and the elimination of the current limitations of the functionality of digital design tools.
