Abstract. Currently, hygienic, protective masks for everyday use have become the most popular product among the population due to the transmission of the viral pathogen COVID‑19 (coronavirus infection) and other infections. At this stage, there is a need to develop new approaches to the formation of clothing elements to protect the human body from viruses and create compact means of protecting people in everyday life. At the first stage, to achieve this goal, we developed a sketch of a multifunctional protective cap-mask that can be folded into a compact bag. Based on the developed sketch, the design of a protective hygienic mask with built-in, replaceable filter antibacterial elements is constructed. The main material used for manufacturing is natural linen or cotton, as well as transparent plastic, which serves to protect the eyes from the possibility of infection on the mucous surface. The result of the study was the development of a multifunctional protective mask that can be transformed from a hat, thereby creating comfort in wearing and greater safety for the respiratory system. With the ability to change filter elements for comfortable and safe use. Filtering antibacterial elements improve the hygienic properties of the mask. It is recommended to use fiber filters, in the fiber structure – all particles (large and small), but with different efficiency. Fiber filters work on the principle that the air flow with particles passes in the gaps between the fibers. Particles that touch the surface of the fiber are removed from the flow and are firmly held by the fiber due to intermolecular forces. Mobility of the product is achieved by the possibility of transformation into a compact waist bag or bracelet.
