Abstract. The article presents material on the value of sable skins, which in the entire history of the fur trade had a high value and to day remain the king of furs. Sable skins have unique properties that ensure a long service life of fur products and have high aesthetic properties. It should be noted that sable skins are a constant commodity at the St. Petersburg International Fur Auction, while the auction form of fur trade most accurately reflected the market demand and supply for furs, thereby forming a fair price for the product. The article is devoted to the study of the properties of sable skins from the Barguzin, Kamchatka, Yakut, Amur and Yenisei ridges sold by auction company Soyuzpushnina. The monitoring of the results of sales of collections of skins of a commercial sable at international fur auctions held by auction company Soyuzpushnina was carried out.

The multifaceted studies of the properties of sable skins and their established significant geographical variability, which determines not only the pricing policy and demand, but also the procedure for forming homogeneous parties into a set and methods for cutting skins, can be used to create a database using computer technologies for calculating and visualizing fur with the given characteristics of properties.
