Abstract. A system of decorative solutions allows for the creation of a coherent artistic image and enhances the aesthetic appeal of fashion products. The diversity of clothing decoration methods, finishing techniques, and technologies dictate the need for structure. This article analyzes the classification of decorative techniques and systematization of finishing types presented in scientific research. The article demonstrates the relevance of additive technologies in the development of fashion design. The author cites successful examples of renowned international designers who are creating multi-part compositions based on modern scientific and technological innovations and 3D printing and modeling technologies. It emphasizes that Russian fashion industry professionals are showing significant interest and devoting considerable attention to exploring the potential of 3D design and additive technologies (3D printing) in various segments of fashion design. An analysis of scientific publications demonstrates that significant experience in scientific developments and practical solutions has been accumulated in this area. This article provides a brief overview of selected domestic research projects and innovative proposals in these areas. The evolution of additive technologies promises the next level of multidimensional 4D apparel design, based on innovative developments in 4D printing. A clear example of the dynamics of innovation in additive technologies is demonstrated: the creation of a 4D Knit Dress using a combination of thermosetting yarn, computerized knitting, and robotic control.
