Abstract. With the emergence of new technical capabilities and the need to meet new human views of beauty. «Illustration» in our time is understood not just images that exist to explain the text of artistic, technical and other works, but also any images, photographs or engravings that are used in the advertising industry, in the media and also in costume design. Illustration as the form of a print has been widely used in the design of children’s clothing for several decades.

The purpose of the article is to analyze collections of children’s clothing for home for autumn-winter 2020–2021 season among mass market brands (Zara, H&M) and to identify the features of using images depending on the age category and on the placement of prints on clothes of different age groups («kids» 3 months – 5 years old, boys and girls 6–14 years old). In this study, illustrations are considered as an element of children’s clothing design.
