Abstract. In conditions of fierce competition in the product market, it is necessary to quickly change the assortment without losing quality. This is achieved by using methods of operational control of the main quality indicators. For non-woven fabrics, the thermal insulation properties of the material are important characteristics. In the course of the work, a laboratory installation was developed for the operational analysis of these properties. With the help of the installation, infrared images of nonwoven fabric samples obtained by a thermal imager were studied. Traditional tests of canvases take a lot of time and are expensive. The paper proposes several dimensionless indicators that are calculated as a result of processing infrared images using unique algorithms that can be used to judge the thermal insulation properties of various samples and conduct a comparative analysis of them in production conditions. Also, the hardware and software complex can be useful when using it in production conditions when changing the recipe. The work was carried out jointly with the leading European enterprise for the production of nonwovens «Thermopol-Moscow» and the results of the study were tested in the conditions of the existing enterprise.
