Abstract. This article examines jewelry as an integral component of both traditional and modern Kazakh costumes. The aim of the study is to analyze the historical evolution, cultural significance, and contemporary transformations of jewelry as a harmonious part of the costume complex. Special attention is given to the typology of jewelry, the materials used, and the techniques of their manufacture, as well as their symbolic and functional aspects, which have been important in Kazakh culture from antiquity to the present. The research covers regional peculiarities of Kazakh jewelry traditions and their changes under the influence of external cultural and historical factors. The article analyzes the process of revival and re-interpretation of traditional motifs in the context of contemporary jewelry art, as well as the incorporation of innovative materials and technologies. This entire process is considered within the context of the costume. The methodological basis of the study includes original field research, analysis of literary sources, and interviews with masters, jewelry designers, and clothing designers. The scientific novelty of the work lies in its comprehensive approach to the study of jewelry as part of the costume complex, which plays a significant role in both history and modernity. The conclusions of the study emphasize the importance of jewelry in preserving cultural identity and its role in contemporary society through the lens of the costume. The results of the work can be useful for further scientific research in the fields of cultural studies and art history, as well as for the development of modern design solutions based on traditional Kazakh motifs.
