Abstract. The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the physico-mechanical properties of textile materials used for the manufacture of modular tactical equipment. The authors present a new approach to assessing the quality of synthetic materials used to create bags, backpacks and belts intended for tourism and outdoor activities.

The growing interest in outdoor activities is stimulating demand for adaptable tactical equipment. The article presents the results of an analysis of synthetic and blended fabrics popular on the Russian market, such as Oxford, Ripstop and membrane fabrics. The most important functional requirements were identified due to operation in various weather conditions (wind, rain) and mechanical loads. Experimental studies included the determination of the structural characteristics of tissues and the most important physical and mechanical parameters of their properties: bursting and tearing loads, water repellency, breathability, and others. The developed criteria for a comprehensive quality assessment are easy to apply and meet important operational requirements.

According to the research results, the tissues with the best characteristics were identified. These materials are recommended for the production of tactical equipment that meets the high requirements of functionality and reliability. Based on the data obtained, samples of modular equipment in the form of a chest backpack and a hip bag have been developed.

The conducted research makes it possible to form recommendations for sewing enterprises on the selection of suitable textile materials for the production of tactical equipment, which contributes to improving product quality and increasing its competitiveness in the market.
