Abstract. This research focuses on the integration between functional finishing and the performance properties of fabrics for protective clothes. The effects of nanofinishing (titanium dioxide nanoparticles and polyurethane with styrene-acrylic dispersions composite) on the mechanical properties of fabrics were studied.

It is necessary the use of personal protective equipment, including special protective clothing to prevent harmful effects on the health of workers in many industries. Textiles play a key role in ensuring durability, reliability, protection, functionality, comfort and aesthetic performance of products in this range. The types of special clothing and used textiles are divided into groups in accordance with the main protective functions: protection from mechanical, thermal effects, dust, chemical, biological factors, etc. However, workers may be exposed to a whole range of harmful factors under certain working conditions. For example, simultaneous exposure to harmful substances, high temperatures, static electricity. The authors proposed a variant of textile materials special finishing to increase the level and expand the types of their protective properties while maintaining the required level of hygienic properties. Three types of fabrics with different fiber compositions were impregnated with a special titanium dioxide nanoparticles and polyurethane with styrene-acrylic dispersions composite. The resulting textiles can be used as outer or intermediate layers in a special clothing against simultaneous exposure to chemicals and high temperatures. The influence of the ratio of components in the binder composition on the performance properties of fabrics was studied. This paper presents the results of a study of the mechanical properties of textiles without finishing and with finishing, such as abrasion resistance, tensile strength. Tests were carried out using standard methods. The increasing of breaking load and abrasion resistance of fabrics with finishing in relation to the original samples was revealed.
