Abstract. The article presents the results of pre-design studies on the design and modeling of shoulder fitted products with a sleeve and, in particular, the issue of connecting the sleeve to the main parts of the product, which directly affects the comfort and convenience of wearing clothes. The text identifies and substantiates the need for in-depth studies of the patterns of shaping clothing models with sleeves, focuses on the variety of model solutions and the difficulty of choosing the right solution when designing structures, which implies the need to develop more detailed recommendations for the design of the armhole-sleeve connection and the construction of model designs of the sleeves themselves. Based on the results of such studies, it is possible to create new methods that will increase the competitiveness of sewing products by producing more universal and comfortable clothing models. In the topic, the factors determining the method and parametric characteristics of the transformation of the patterns of the sleeve into a model design are highlighted. Based on the systematization of information about the methods of modeling the design of the sleeve and armhole-sleeve assembly, it is proposed to identify five variants of algorithms. Based on the results of the analysis, a list of design parameters of the sleeve and armhole-sleeve assembly has been compiled in order to further study the relationship and interdependence of these parameters with each other, as well as with the properties of materials and anthropomorphological features of the human figure. Structured and systematized knowledge can be used to develop software that will help designers and designers create better and more accurate clothing models, as well as optimize production processes.
