Abstract. The article deals with issues related to the design of products for children with disabilities. The basis for solving the problem of childhood disability, which is to improve the quality of life is a comprehensive approach that includes early initiation of therapeutic and corrective-educational measures and the establishment of special environmental conditions, which integral part is the development and introduction of technical means of rehabilitation. The use of textile materials is very promising in creating these products. By textile rehabilitation products we mean various products made of textile materials used to compensate or eliminate the limitations of children’s life, which include technical means of rehabilitation (devices, adaptations), including inclusive and rehabilitation clothing, as well as educational products (toys, manuals).

The research of scientific works performed in the direction of product design and construction has shown the incompleteness of the problem development, the lack of a complete picture, and the need to develop these studies in order to obtain a complex multi-factor picture.

The article defines that the task of rehabilitation of children with disabilities has its own specifics due to the diverse relationships between the child’s condition, traditional factors of rehabilitation and the projected textile means of rehabilitation, society. Therefore, the main positions of inclusive and ergodesign should be creatively summarized and supplemented with new principles. In this regard, we have introduced a new concept of rehabilitation design-an activity in which, by integrating the basic principles of inclusive and ergodesign, management theory, methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process, products are created that provide compensation for violations of physical, mental and social conditions of children with disabilities of different age groups.

It is shown that the design issues of textile rehabilitation tools in connection with the identified specifics affect various fields of knowledge, and the products themselves have diverse connections with the child, among themselves and other rehabilitation tools.
