Abstract. The Strategy for the development of the light industry of the Russian Federation until 2025 prioritizes «…the development of national brands in the field of clothing, footwear, accessories, as well as the prestige of the industry and competencies in design and fashion», which necessitates the development of R&D in the field of technological processes, innovative products and the national design school. The article presents an analysis of the key design features of sports-style shoes and provides a description of the detailing. A distinctive feature of the sneakers is a complex design with bright decor and branding, an unlimited number of additional details and elements, soft edging, and a wide tongue. The authors have identified the main requirements for sports-style shoes and materials for their manufacture. The general characteristics of the analyzed list of requirements provide information about the product, such as purpose, compliance with current trends, materials used, quality, possession of a number of consumer properties, the ability to interchangeability and modernization. A sketch design of a collection of shoes and accessories based on a creative source has been developed using the Adobe Illustrator graphic editor. A comparative characteristic has been compiled for the models and an algorithm for constructing a geometric image of decorative modules-details of sneakers and bags has been identified. According to the principles of modular design, design documentation has been developed for the design project of the collection using CAD (AutoCAD). Modular design meets the demands of modern mass production dictated by globalization. To remain competitive, it is necessary to follow general development trends and focus on improving processes, using the latest technologies and improving product quality.
