Abstract. The article discusses the principles of artistic depiction of costume models using the technical characteristics of modern graphics. In this study, the authors analyze the modern method of graphic depiction of the costume on the subject: the use and application of the drawing of the contour image of the costume and the nature of the line; solutions to the composition of the costume, taking into account the proportional forms and subordination of the constructive and decorative elements of the costume; stylistic, emotional and sensual features of costume design. The study pays special attention to such factors as pulsating dynamics, and in another case to the peaceful statics in the sensory perception of the nature of the line, the presence of a spot and texture in the technique of execution. The authors on specific models of the costume on the basis of the strength of perception of artistic and graphic elements and the shape of the costume considered and analyzed their psychological functions taking into account the theory of C.G. Jung. On the basis of the psychoanalytic analysis of the artistic and technical execution of the graphics of costume sketches, the authors developed a classification of sketches by categories of psychotypes. These research results reflect fashion trends both in the art of costume and modern design requirements are aimed at improving the domestic methodology of modern costume graphics. Thus, the development of costume models, taking into account the understanding and application of psychoanalytic data, allows the designer-designer to go the right way at the stage of formation of the author’s brand, actively show individuality, as well as at the stage of developing a graphic sketch to show the psychological state of the model and its compatibility with the high rate of environmental development.
